How to Access Your Data
The EYFS Cohort Attainment page provides you with an overview of all the pupils in a cohort for all 17 early learning goals for a single term, along with all the GLD percentages.
Simply fill out the following criteria from the dropdown boxes and press ‘Go’:
- Year Group: Select which cohort of data you wish to analyse.
- Academic Year: Select the year of data you wish to view. You can look back historically here.
- Assessment No: Select which term's data you wish to analyse.
- Library: Select 'standard' here for the current EYFS framework, or 'legacy' if you are viewing pupils who were on the old curriculum.
- Display: ‘School iTRACK Data’ is the data staff enter into iTRACK, with whatever bands you have on your account. ‘Reported Data’ shows the restricted DfE data of Met/Not Met from your school MIS/Wonde. This dropdown will only appear when viewing end of EYFS data.
- Floor Standard: select which band a pupil should be working at for the time of year you are viewing. This will then calculate your 'on track for GLD' percentages underneath the GLD columns.
- Include Leavers: ‘No’ is the default and will ensure that any children marked as leavers in iTRACK will be excluded from your data. ‘Yes’ will include them in your figures. For instructions on how to monitor ‘Transience’, please click here.
A Useful hint here is to collapse the left-hand menu using the 3 dashes, to ensure most of the data fits on the page:
You can also press 'ctrl +' and 'ctrl -' to zoom in and out on your web browser, in order to ensure your data fits on the page.
Interpreting Your Data
1) Open Filters
This enables users to select sub-groups of children using Attributes (e.g., Gender, Pupil Premium, SEND, Autumn/Spring/Summer born etc.) The 'core filters' tab are taken from your MIS, while the 'school filters' ones can be customised on the 'Manage Attributes' page.
2) Floor Standard Selection
By selecting the appropriate band for the time of year you are viewing, all the GLD column's below (see points 6 & 9) will turned from N(o) the a Y(es) when a pupil achieves your floor standard. So during the year, you can see which pupils are 'on track to achieve GLD'.
3) Additional Tickboxes
By clicking these tickboxes, you will open up some additional, less commonly-required data columns:
- Status: Possible values are (I) included, (E) excluded and (A) absent, the default value being (I). If (E) or (A) are selected, then pupils are excluded from calculations. An example might be if you have pupils absent for a sustained period and you wish to view your data without them.
- Assessment Age: The age of the pupil in total number of months.
- Baseline: This refers to an old, standardised score format of Baseline, so may now be redundant unless viewing historically.
- Baseline Standard: Similar to above, this is the result outcome of an old Baseline.
4) Export to Excel
Click here to export this pages data into Excel format.
5) Expandable/Collapsible Column Headers
By clicking the thin, dark grey column header you can expand or collapse to view data as the broader 7 Areas of Learning or the full range of 17. Every subject here has this functionality, so you can view the data as detailed or as summarised as you require.
6) Good Level of Development (GLD)
Children are defined as having reached the GLD at the end of the EYFS if they 'meet the Early Learning Goal' for the prime areas of learning (personal, social, and emotional development; physical development; and communication and language) and in the specific areas of mathematics and literacy. This data can be found in the highlighted column, along with all the other various GLD options in other GLD columns. The threshold for when this calculates is selected using the 'Floor Standard' dropdown (see point 2).
7) Sort Arrows
By clicking the arrow in the light grey header, it will sort your pupils into ascending order and then descending order if you click again. This is great for getting your intervention groups and higher attainers at either end of the table. This button works the same for every column header, everywhere in iTRACK - including 'pupil name' (if you want to sort it back into alphabetical order).
8) Expandable Subject Attainment Percentage Rows
Here you will find all your attainment percentages for the subject as whole, broken down into each of your different bands. If you click on the row of a specific band, the table will break down further into your sub-scores. You can expand as many rows as you require.
9) Good Level of Development (GLD) Percentages
Below the main table you will find a series of percentages. This is where you can find all your GLD percentages for each different area of learning, the most commonly required being the one highlighted for 'Prime, Literacy & Maths'. This will include all 'Y' pupils, who have met your floor standard threshold (point 2) in ALL Areas of Learning'.
10) Blank Rows for Custom Calculations
You will notice that there are 2 blank rows, named ‘Option 1’ and ‘Option 2’ underneath. They are multi-purpose, customisable rows so that each individual user can calculate any percentage they require. Simply click on the row, give it a name, then select which bands you would like calculated in that percentage. One useful example would be 'On Track for ELG', then you can select which bands constitute on track for the time of year you are viewing (this maybe different for each year group depending on your setup).
11) Scroll Sideways
As the page contains a lot of data, there may be some sideways scrolling required. You can alleviate this by using the 3 dashes at the top to collapse the left-hand menu, or zooming in/out on your web browser until it fits (for windows this is: ctrl + / - ).
12) Expandable/Collapsible Pupil Attainment Percentage Columns
Similar to point 8, these columns can be expanded or collapsed by clicking on them in order to view the breakdown of data.
A Note About Printing
When selecting the ‘Print Page’ icon at the top right-hand side, it is essential to ensure your printer preferences/options are set to “Landscape” orientation. This is the only way to ensure all the data columns will fit onto a single sheet. It should also be noted that due to formatting constraints, it is not possible to print the ‘expanded’ display.
