The Transition Matrix is about comparing your data against previous KS / EYFS Outcome data, to monitor who is making below/at/above the expected amount of progress.
Simply visit the Transition Matrix tab under the 'Cohort Analysis' sub-heading in the 'KS1-KS3' section of the left-hand menu, and fill out the following criteria:
- Year Group: Select the cohort of children you wish to look at.
- Assessment Year: Select the year of information you wish to view. This is especially useful for viewing historic data. When entering current data, please ensure the Year Group and Academic Year are the same.
- Assessment No: Select the term you wish to view, this is dependent on the school preferences.
- Subject: Select the subject you wish to enter. Please note that you can use iTRACK for any subject you wish. Contact your local Education Consultant for more information.
- Press Go.
Selecting Your Expectation
This next step is vital to get your matrix to function. You must use the dropdown boxes in the purple header to select where a child with each previous KS/EYFS Outcome should be working, for the time of year you are viewing.
This will in turn show as a coloured grid, allowing you to easily identify which children are underperforming, which ones are where they should be, and which ones may need to strive for more.
As a general rule, iTRACK will remember your chosen expectation standards the next time you log in. However, it is always worth double checking that they are correct before you manipulate your data.
How the Page Works
Please see the below key for useful tips on how the page operates:
1) Open Filters
You can use this button to filter all the data tables by any of your Attributes, which is really useful for analysing your key groups of children. The mandatory, nationally recognised groups are under the 'Core Filters' tab, and any set up by your school will be under 'School Filters'.
2) Export to Excel
If you wish to analyse this data further, you can click the ‘Export to Excel’ button to generate an Excel file containing this data. Each group will be presented on a separate worksheet within the file.
3) Expectation Selection
As explained above, once you've have set the expectation, the coloured grid will appear.
4) Below/At/Above Percentages
All your percentages are at the bottom. Please note that you may be required to scroll down to see this information.
