The Attainment Dashboard page provides a quick summary of your attainment data, in terms of both percentages and numbers of children (in brackets). This can then be easily manipulated to do all your comparative group work (e.g Boys v Girls etc).
- An overview of the core subjects
- Analysing and comparing groups
To access this, simply go to the Attainment Dashboard tab under the 'School Analysis' subheading in the 'KS1-KS3' section of the left-hand menu. You then need to fill out the appropriate criteria.
- Subject: Select the subject you wish to view ('Core' will show Reading, Writing, SPaG, Maths and Science' on the one page by default, but this is customisable).
- Subset: If you have them enabled, you can select a subset here. 'All' will show the overall subject, and this option is NOT available when viewing 'Core'.
- Assessment: Select the year and term/AP of information you wish to view. You can look back historically here.
- Show Previous: Select the year and term/AP of historic information you wish to view alongside your 'current' data. This is also NOT available when viewing 'Core', and can be left off the page by selecting 'No'.
- Floor Standard: This is where you select where to draw the line for ARE for the piece of data you are viewing, which will only impact the 'summarised' data. For more information, please see point (5) in the 'How the Dashboard Works' section.
- Press Go.
1) Viewing the Core Subjects
When you select the subject as 'Core', you will see all your core subjects appear on the Dashboard. It's worth noting that by default, iTRACK's core subjects are 'Reading, Writing, SPaG, Maths and Science'. However if there's any you wish to add/remove from the core label, contact our support team or your Education Consultant.
If you wish to view your data for any of your groups of children, simply go to your filtering section and choose the group of children you wish to analyse, then press 'Go'.
All of the data in the tables will represent the group of children you selected.
Please note: you can apply as many filter groups as you like.
2) Comparing Groups of Children
When you select a specific subject from the dropdown, you will notice a new purple 'show attributes' button appear.
When you click that, the following blue table will appear below. This allows you to choose up to 5 of your key groups at a time (e.g. Boys v Girls, Pupil Premium v Non, Ever6 v Non, SEND n Non, EAL v Non) for comparing data.
In the ‘AVAILABLE ATTRIBUTES’ column on the left, select which (up to) 5 attributes you would like to view and compare. In the ‘SELECTED ATTRIBUTES’ column on the right, ensure that the data will be making the correct comparison (e.g. left: Gender, right: Boys v Girls). This is particularly important when comparing attributes with numerous code options.
Once you are happy with your selections, press ‘Go’. Please note that these can be changed at any time by deselecting the ‘available attributes’ and selecting new ones.
You will now be presented with your attainment percentages and pupil numbers for each of your EYFS cohorts, with a total row underneath. This will be broken down into each of the 5 groups you selected from the blue Attributes table.
How the Dashboard Works
To extract more meaningful information from your Attainment Dashboard, you can use the following hints and tips:
1) Open Filters
You can use this button to filter all the data tables by any of your Attributes, which is really useful for cross-referencing groups. For example, when viewing an individual subject, if you click to open your filters and were to select your Pupil Premium children, then the Boys v Girls table below would represent your Pupil Premium Boys v Pupil Premium Girls.
2) Table Toggle
By clicking this button in the 'Display Options' section, the data will swap from graphical to tabular format. Please note you can click on any cell within any table to reveal a list of the pupil names (see point 7 below).
3) Bar Chart Toggle
By clicking this button in the 'Display Options' section, the data will swap from tabular to Bar Charts. You can revert to tables by clicking the ‘Table’ button. These graphs can either be expanded into individual cohorts using the symbol, or downloaded using the purple 'DOWNLOAD IMAGE' button.
4) Pie Chart Toggle
By clicking this button in the 'Display Options' section, the data will swap from tabular form to Pie Charts. You can revert to tables by clicking the ‘Table’ button. These graphs can either be expanded into individual cohorts using the symbol, or downloaded using the purple 'DOWNLOAD IMAGE' button.
5) Show Summarised Assessments
This allows you to flick your data between the expanded view of all your assessment bands, and a summarised 'below/at/above' with a 'floor standard or better'. This can also be used to toggle both tables and graphs into either format.
By selecting your appropriate floor standard from the dropdown, in the example below 'WTS', you will see the table is formatted in 'Below WTS / At WTS / Above WTS' with a 'WTS or better':
6) Export to Excel
If you wish to analyse this data further, you can click the ‘Export to Excel’ button to generate an Excel file containing this data. Each group will be presented on a separate worksheet within the file.
7) Pupil Pop Up
Clicking on any of the cells containing data will reveal the names of the pupils contained in that that percentage/number. If you click the cell where it says ‘total’, you will see a list of all your pupils. If you click on the cell which says ‘Year 1n’, you will get a list of all your Year 1 pupils etc. This list is easily printable by clicking the ‘print this report’ link. To close it down, either click out of the pop up or use the x symbol.
